The Teflon (PTFE) Bellows Mechanical Seal is a highly specialized, externally mounted sealing solution engineered specifically for handling the most aggressive, highly corrosive chemicals. Unlike standard seals that use metal parts or rubber elastomers that dissolve under chemical attack, this seal features a core molded or machined PTFE (Teflon) bellows. The bellows functions as both the flexible sealing element and the spring-loading mechanism. Because it is mounted externally outside the pump stuffing box, all internal metal components (such as the clamping rings and springs) are completely isolated on the atmospheric side, keeping them 100% safe from acid and chemical degradation.
Generally used in
Acids, alkalis and extremely corrosive service.
